Sonia A. Csencsits

Sonia A. Csencsits , 81 of Northampton, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at her home. Born February 19, 1942 in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Dimitri and Anna (Stashitsky) Zacharchuk. She and her husband, Joseph F. Csencsits were married on September 21, 1963.

Sonia was a reporter for the Morning Call for thirty years, before retiring in 2002. She served as an officer of the Northampton Historical Society and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and aides that helped take care of Sonia for the last fifteen years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Christopher Csencsits of Walnutport, daughter, Heidi Csencsits wife of Darren Olsen of Northampton, brothers, Wallace Zacharchuk, Roman Zacharchuk and wife Margie, and Andrew Zacharchuk, sisters, Deena Baker and Cynthia wife of Bruce Schmauch and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Theodore Zacharchuk, and sisters, Olga Capovic and Alice Bove.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
