Stanislaw Gasienica , 81, of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Maria Gasienica, with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage.
Born in Poland, raised on a farm and became a self-taught talented musician like his father, where he traveled and performed in his band throughout the southern regions of Poland, and later in the States. He served in the military, and after marriage and the birth of his children, emigrated to the United States to be a machinist for Jetco, Inc., in New Jersey, who sponsored him and later his family to permanently live in the United States. He was an entrepreneur and part-owner of Janosik Restaurant in Wallington, New Jersey, as well as the lead of a Polish Band, Wislanie, that traveled the country. Later in life, he moved to Lehighton, where he worked as a machinist at Kovatch until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working in his workshop, and was a devoted member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Maria, he will be dearly remembered by his children, Bozena Szozda and her husband, Robert of Prince George, Virginia; Dorota Gasienica-Kozak and her husband, Michael Kozak of Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren, David Szozda and his wife, Erin of Hopewell, Virginia, Kasia Szozda of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Ava Kozak of Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Great-grandchildren, Alec and Dominic Szozda of Hopewell, Virginia. He is predeceased by his brother, Jozef Gasienica of Gronkow, Poland.
Services: A Funeral Service, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 260 N. 3rd Street, Lehighton, PA 18235, where family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m., until 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown.
