Stella M. Shigo
, 96, formerly of Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Friday morning, March 17, 2017, at The Lutheran Home, Topton, Berks County. She was the wife of the late Edmund I. Shigo who passed in 1985. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Onuffer and Fannie (Konek) Mazikanish.
Stella was employed by the former Western Electric Corporation, Allentown, in the microchip processing/gold plating department, retiring in 1984. She and her late husband owned and operated the former Palm Grill, Delaware Avenue, in Palmerton. Stella was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palmerton. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Blue Ridge Country Club. Stella also enjoyed bowling.
Survivors:
Daughter, Debra S. wife of William Barthold of Macungie. Sons, Ed A. and wife Jody of Palmerton, Scott D. and wife Cheryl of Brookeville, Maryland. 4 grandchildren, Jason, Spencer, Cole, and Annie. Nieces and nephews.
Services:
Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, in the church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Church Parish's New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton.
