Stephen G. "KERBY" Kerbacher,
86 of Northampton, Pennsylvania. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 15, 2017. Born January 10, 1931 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Grohotulsky) Kerbacher. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Castle) Kerbacher who passed away in 1995.
Stephen was last employed by the Lehigh County Utility Maintenance Dept. for 7 years before retiring in 1996. Prior to he owned and operated Kerbacher's TV and Appliance Repair, Main St. Northampton, from 1965 until 1990. A member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Allentown, PA. He was a life member of the Northampton Tri-boro Sportsman Assoc. and the Northampton Leiderkrantz; Member of the Slatington Skeet and Sporting Assoc. and member of the Jim Thorpe Sportsman Club; He was a member of the American Legion Post #945 Wormleysburg, PA. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the Poconos. He served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors: Surviving are son, Stephen J. Kerbacher and wife Sheri of Northampton, PA; daughter, Jane A. wife of David McCarthy of Northampton, PA; 5 Grandchildren; Stefani wife of Max Fink, Walnutport, PA; Taylor and Joseph Kerbacher, and Jordan and Kaitlyn McCarthy, and a Great- Granddaughter, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two Grandsons; Stephen and Scott Kerbacher.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday September 20, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA. 18067 with the Rev. Joseph S. Falzone officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 and Wednesday Sept. 20, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM both at the funeral home. Interment with Military honors will follow services in Allen Union Cemetery Association, Northampton, PA.
Contributions: May be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church Memorial fund or Northampton Regional EMS both C/O the funeral home.
