Stephena A. Kurtz

Stephena A. Kurtz, 100, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Village at Palmerton. Born August 3, 1917 in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa ( Marko) Plechavy and wife of the late Joseph Kurtz.

She served her country honorably as a Sergeant in the Army during World War II, and was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 269, Palmerton.  Stephena was a life long member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Palmerton.

Survivors: Surviving are daughters, Diane wife of John Kanon of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, Deborah Campbell of Falls Church, Virginia.  Brother, William Plechavy of Punta Gorda, Florida.  Five grandchildren, Carolyn, David, Matthew, Megan, and Ian.  One great granddaughter, Elise Kanon. She was predeceased by son, William Kurtz.

Services: The family will receive friends on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at the Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA, 18071.  A Mass of Christian Burial will then follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Officiating will be the Rev. Fr. William T. Campion.  Interment, with Military Honors , will follow services, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish's New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com
