Sylvia J Chittick

Sylvia J. Chittick, 85 of Allentown, PA. formerly of Bath-Moore Twsp. died on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Westminster Village in Allentown. Born August 24, 1932 in Londonderry City, Northern Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Harry Ming and Mary Ann (Howard) Ming. She was the wife of John Chittick, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage this March 28, 1953.

Sylvia was employed as a secretary for the National Society Prevention of Cruelty to Children in Belfast, Ireland for several years before retiring in 1997 and moving to the United States. She enjoyed cooking, floral arranging, sewing, tailoring, gardening, and traveling.

Surviving along with her husband John are son, Clive R. Chittick and wife Tammy Louise of Suwanee, GA, daughter, G. Lesley, wife of Donald Shambo, Jr. of Northampton, PA, brother, Reginald Ming and wife Gwen of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland; 3 grandchildren: Richard, Victoria, and Collin. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Harry Ming.

A Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday May 17, 2018 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
