Sylvia E. Lucas , 70, of Stagecoach Road West, Towamensing Township, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Tamaqua, died suddenly Monday evening, May 29, 2017, in Lower Towamensing Township, as a result of a vehicular accident.  She was the wife of the late Alfred Houser.  Born in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Brobst) Lucas.

Sylvia was employed as an Licensed Practical Nurse for Epic Home Health Care, Allentown, for the last 10 years.  She attended Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.  A 1964 graduate of the Tamaqua High School, she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, going to concerts, and the Jim Thorpe Red Hat Society.

Survivors: Daughters, Camille Ann wife of James Luckenbaugh with whom she resided, Amanda L. wife of Dale Dewald of Orwigsburg.  Son, Robert M. and wife Holly Rausch of Jim Thorpe.  6 grandchildren, Zachery, Madison, Haley, Nathan, Jill, and Beth.  Great-grandson, Bentley.  3 nieces, Faith Ann, Susie, and Karen.  2 nephews, Billy, and Raymond.  She was predeceased by brother, William "Billy" Lucas.

Services: Memorial Services, 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.  The interment is private.
