Theresa M. Owens

Theresa "Tess" M. Owens, 86, of Lincoln Avenue, Northampton, formerly of Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday afternoon, November 8, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Allentown. She was the wife of the late W. Ben Owens who passed in 2003. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Latzko) Aranjo.
Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Theresa was a longtime lodge member of the Hungarian Club, Palmerton. An avid gardener, she enjoyed her rock gardens, growing flowers, vegetables, and making great dill pickles. She enjoyed baking, and making great kiffles.
Survivors: Daughters, Patricia A. wife of Randy Rahn of Slatington, Grace L. wife of Charles Johnson of Coplay, Debra wife of Richard Hughes of Allentown. Son, David J. and fiancée, Shelley Schwartz with whom she resided. 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Angelene Melber of Allentown, Anita wife of Stephen Weiner of Whitehall Township, Reggie wife of John Pavelco of Center Valley, Veronica Steigerwalt of Lehighton. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son Ben in 2012, and a sister, Marie Roderick.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Interment, Parish's New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton, PA 18071.
