Thomas Edgar Kasten, 79, of Allentown, South Whitehall Township, died late Friday evening, October 21, 2016, at Lifequest Nursing Center, Quakertown, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Eaves) Kasten since November 27, 1965. Born in East Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late Karl A., Sr. and Blanche A. (Freyman) Kasten.
Thomas was employed as property manager for Samuel Geltman and Company, 31 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Howertown. A 1954 graduate of the former East Mauch Chunk High School, he served in the US Army, Korean Occupation, Vietnam Era, and achieved the rank of SP5(T). Thomas was a 32nd Degree Mason, member and Past Master of Carbon Lodge #242 F. & A.M., Jim Thorpe, and Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown.
Survivors: Wife, Patricia. Daughter, Wendy Sue Hildenbrandt of Northampton. Sisters, Mary E. Bretz of Dobson, North Carolina, Janet L. Horn of Lehighton. Brother, Merritt L. of Deland, Florida. Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Isabel, Malinda, and Janice, and brothers, Karl J., John, Roy, Wayne, Allen, and Morris.
Services: Private Graveside Services. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, 5th Street, East Jim Thorpe. Arrangements are by Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
