Verna M. Chandick

Verna Chandick, 95 of Northampton, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton, PA. Born March 24, 1930 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph G. Hoffman and the late Susanna E. (Haberern) Hoffman. She was the wife of the late Peter Chandick who passed away in January 2000.

Verna was the class Secretary, a Flutist, and graduate of the1948 class of Northampton Area Senior High School. She was last employed by the former AT & T, Lucent Technologies, Allentown, PA for 35 years as a Layout Operator before retiring in 1987. Verna was a long time member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, PA. She was a life member of the AT&T Pioneers Group, member of the Northampton A.A.R.P. and a former member of the former friendly 50's group.

She is survived by her son, Peter M. Chandick and wife Brenda of Bath, PA, granddaughter, Erica Chandick and Fiance' Kyle Richards of Walnutport, PA, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 5 brothers, John, Ralph, Alvin, Charles, and Stanley Hoffman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday April 14, 2025 at Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church - Egypt , 4331 Main St., Whitehall, PA. 18052 with the Rev. James W. Schlegel officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services in the church. Interment will follow in the Egypt Cemetery, Whitehall, PA. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her care and arrangements.
