Violet I. Traugher

Violet I. Traugher, 81 of Bushkill Township formerly of Northampton, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Born Monday, April 29, 1940 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Russell Ernst and Mamie (Mink) Ernst. She was the wife of the late Donald Traugher.

She was a sales clerk at Sears, Whitehall for 54 years before retiring in 2011 and was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Seemsville.
Violet was a 1958 graduate of Whitehall High School and a member of the former Northampton Lions Club.

She is survived by daughters, Bonnie L. wife of Kevin Yany of Bushkill Township, and Michelle L. wife of Darin Rehrig of Northampton, brother, Carl Ernst, sisters, Doris Igoe of Virginia, and Joyce Klein of Northampton, and grandchildren, Brianna, McKenzie, Tyler, and Olivia, and great grandson, Elliot. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Ernst.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service, all on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, Pennsylvania 18067. Interment will follow at St. Peter's UCC Cemetery, Seemsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, both in care of the funeral home.
