Virgilio B Roque

Virgilio B. Roque, 94, of South Street, Allentown, PA, died Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2016, at ManorCare Health Services I, Bethlehem, PA. He was the husband of Isabel M. Roque since March 15, 1952. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Remigio and Trinidad (Bernier) Roque.

Virgilio was employed in the maintenance department of AARP, Bethlehem, until retiring. Previously, he had owned and operated his own grocery store in New York City for several years. A US Army Veteran of WWII, and Korea, he achieved the rank of Cpl.

Survivors: Wife. Daughters, Daisy Castellano of Houston, TX, Linda wife of Peter Sneddon of Hellertown PA, Rosselyn Schultz of OK. Sons, Virgil and wife Debbie of Whitehall, Steven and wife Rita of Schnecksville. 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Brother, Hermino in Puerto Rico. Nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Hector, and a sister, Paquita Gonzalez.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Call, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors, at Fairview Cemetery, Cherryville Road, Northampton.
