Virginia R. Gardner, 98 of Whitehall, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Whitehall Manor.

Born June 11, 1919 in Palmerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russel Heydt and the late Fiana (Bowman) Heydt. She was the wife of Axel Gardner with whom she celebrated 77 years of marriage in September 2017. She was employed as a Seamstress for the former Scotty's Fashions for 10 years before retiring in the 1970's. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ - Mickleys.

Surviving along with her husband are, son-in-law, Frank L. Fisher & companion Patricia Steinke of Orefield, PA, grandson, Christopher Fisher & wife Jariya of Chiang Mai, Thailand; 4 great grand children. She was predeceased by daughter, Patricia Ann Fisher who passed away in 2002.

A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, April 18 at the funeral home.
