Virginia E. Meckes

Virginia E. Meckes , 94 of Walnutport-Lehigh Twsp., PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home on Friday, June 13, 2025. Born March 6, 1931 in Walnutport-Lehigh Twsp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Quillas Marsh and the late Dorothy (Remaley) Marsh. She was the wife of the late Harvey E. Meckes, Sr. who passed away August 21, 2000.

Virginia was a sewing machine operator for 26 years for the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, PA before retiring. She was a faithful member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, PA. Virginia loved to spend her time quilting, baking, taking care of her flowers and mowing her grass. She also enjoyed watching wrestling and sitting out in the sunroom watching the birds.

She is survived by her son, Harvey E. Meckes, Jr. (Sherry), and daughter, Mrs. Sandra A. Gabryluk both of Walnutport, PA; 5 grandchildren; Sherri, Scott, Chrisie, Joseph III, and Nicole, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mrs. Diana Smith and Mrs. Lorraine Jones.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday June 23, 2025 at Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mt. Drive, Cherryville, PA. 18035 with the Rev. Kevin L. Fetterhoff and Rev. Scott Weldon officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church prior to the services. Interment will follow in Danielsville Union Cemetery, Danielsville, PA.
