Walter H. George,
87 of Palmerton, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Summit at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Born April 8, 1930, Kunkletown, he was the son of the late Perry and Miriam L. (Green) George and husband of the late Virginia E. (Strohl) George.
He worked as a chipper for the Bethlehem Steel Company for 34 years before retiring.
Survivors: He is survived by son, Walter H. George, Jr. and wife Debora of Kunkletown, daughters, Teena L. wife of James S. Smiley of Kunkletown, Diane L. wife of Paul Mishko of Danielsville, Mary M. wife of David P. Eckhart of Kunkletown, and May A. George of Kresgeville, sister, Goldie Hagenbuch of Kunkletown, companion, June Strohl of Palmerton; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Wilmer, Norwood, Clark and Lee and sister, Lenora.
Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
