Walter Jeremiah Hutchins

Walter Jeremiah Hutchins, 76, of Upper Nazareth Township, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.

Born April 13, 1947 in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Edwin C. and Gertrude (MacDonald) Hutchins. He and his wife Elisabeth A. (Murray) Hutchins were married on July 1, 1989.

Walter worked for the State of New Jersey for 46 years, retiring as Chief Operating Engineer in 2019. He honorably served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam and was a life member of the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed hiking, bicycling, camping, but most of all, spending time with his family and pets.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by his  daughters, Ann E. Acevedo and husband Michael T. Acevedo of Allentown, and Cassandra L. Murphy of Oakhurst, NJ, son, Jason D. Hutchins and wife Magnolia of Long Valley, NJ, grandchildren, Lily, Elijah, Abigail, Sean, Louise, and Noel, brother, John Hutchins of New Jersey, sisters, Emily Malone of New Jersey, and Doris Kimball of California.

Services: The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a 3:00 PM memorial service, all on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Batholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064.
