89 of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital - Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg, PA.
Born on August 24, 1929 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Oldrich Zapletal and the late Marie (Kratochvilova) Zapletal. He was the husband of Teresa (Kostyszyn) Zapletal celebrating 32 years of marriage.
He was employed by Pilot Wood Working Company in Brooklyn, NY as the Plant Manager and Foreman for 40 years, before retiring in 1993. He served his country honorably in the Army and was a Veteran of Korea.
Survivors: Wife, Teresa. Daughters, Linda Simmons of Queens, NY, Donna Zapletal of Chatham, NJ, and Anne Post of Queens, NY; 5 grand children. He was predeceased by sister, Rose Foucek.
Services: A Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM with Military Honors to follow. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
