Walter L. Keeney , 97 of Whitehall, PA, died on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Fellowship Community in Whitehall, PA. Born May 20, 1925 in Sugar Run, PA, he was the son of the late Ray Keeney and the late Ruth (Bunnell) Keeney. He was the husband of the late Ann (Bowen) Keeney who passed away May 23, 2016.
Walter was last employed by the former Matlack Transportation Services, Northampton, PA as a truck driver for over 20 years before retiring in 1980. Walter had many gifts and hobbies, he enjoyed working with his hands fixing cars and trucks. He was a clock builder and one of his pride and joys was the one he made of some 900 pieces. He enjoyed camping and traveling and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served his country as a PFC in the US Army in five important campaigns including Normandy invasion, Northern France, Central Europe, Ardennes Forest, and Rhineland, Germany during World War II.
Surviving are sons, Donald L. Keeney, Sr. and wife Ginger, and Harold M. Keeney and wife Patsy both of Whitehall, PA, daughter, Patricia A. Uivary of Northampton, PA. 4 grandchildren; Wendy Uivary of Northampton, Lisa Keeney-Ziegenfus of Whitehall, Donald L. Keeney, Jr. and wife Jaime of Nazareth, and Joshua Keeney and wife Janelle of Walnutport. 4 great-grandchildren; Miranda, Alexis, Jaxon, and Autumn. He was predeceased by a grandson Walter Uivary.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held privately for the family, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with his care and arrangements.
