Wayne H. Kasten, 89, of Allentown, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.
Born Monday, March 28, 1927, in East Mauch Chunk he was the son of the late Karl A., Sr., and Blanche (Freyman) Kasten and the husband of the late Rose (Molnar) Kasten.
He was a Director of Plant Operations at Jaindl Turkey Farm, Orefield, for 17 years, and then worked at Muhlenberg College for ten years, retiring in 1989. He also worked at Helfrich Springs and Buchanan Park Apartments; Koch's Turkey Farms; Diversified Maintenance, and Topton Lutheran Home (where he was Director of Maintenance). He honorably served in the US Army during World War II.
Surviving are daughter-in-law, Karin A. Kasten, brothers, Merritt L. Kasten of DeLand, FL, Thomas E. Kasten and wife Pat of Allentown; Sisters, Mary Bretz of North Carolina, Janet L. Horn of Lehighton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him was a son, John W. Kasten (husband of Karin Korutz Kasten); Brothers, John Kasten, Roy Kasten, Allen Kasten, Morris Kasten and sisters, Isabel Rohlfing, Janice Hahn and Malinda Stehly.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Jim Thorpe, PA.
