Wayne D. Smith, Sr.

Wayne D. Smith, Sr., 76 of Northampton, PA. died on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born November 27, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Meade Smith, Sr. and the late Roselyn (Koziura) Smith. He was the husband of Barbara (Gades) Smith with whom he shared 58 years of marriage this past July 14, 2021.

Wayne was a welder working for the Boilermaker Union for over 50 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville, PA. Some of his passions were golfing, race car driving, and tending to his cats.

Surviving along with his wife Barbara are son, Wayne D. Smith, Jr. and wife Holly of York, PA, daughter, Lynette M. wife of Glenn Alberts of Benton, PA, brother, Meade Smith, Jr. and wife Patricia of Pittsburgh, PA, sisters, Carol McAllister of Pittsburgh, PA, Terri Sakala of Pittsburgh, PA, Beverly Smith, Patricia Smith, and Debora Gutierrez, all of Lewes, DE. 3 Granddaughters: Brynn Mason, Lindsay Huepenbecker, Sabrina Smith and 5 Great-Grandchildren: Cole, Abby, Zoey, Dixie, and Kendra.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA, has been entrusted with his care and arrangements.
