Werner "Whitey" J. Greb,
71, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Forest Inn, Towamensing Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his 4 children, and significant other of 9 years. Born in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late Werner and Rose Nickisher Greb.
He was a graduate of Northampton High School Class of 1964, where he was a scholar athlete. He attended Lafayette College and graduated from Moravian College. Whitey spent 30 years serving his country honorably in the Army Reserves, ending his career in the Civil Affairs Unit. He graduated from Officer Candidate School, and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He served in the U.S. led invasion of Grenada in 1983, and Haiti's "Operation Uphold Democracy" in September of 1994. He was a member of the Honorary First Defenders. He was a member of the Whitehall Kiwanis Club and the Suburban North YMCA. His other career was in banking, where he worked at Cement National Bank, Northampton, PA, and the First National Bank of Palmerton, PA. He was an avid Penn State fan, golfer, softball and pickleball player. He attended the New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, FL.
Survivors:
Daughters, Carli wife of Jared Orth of Collegeville, PA, and, Stacy wife of Ryan Knecht of Northampton, PA. Sons, Todd and wife Bobbi Greb of Macungie, PA, and Scott Greb of Breinigsville, PA. 9 Grandchildren; Travis and Liam Orth, Ambrose and Daniel Knecht, Brandon, Natalie, Elizabeth, and Katie Greb, and Dana Greb. Sister, Paulette wife of Thomas Beidel, Coplay, PA. Brother, Dennis and wife Nancy Greb of Catasauqua, PA. Significant other, Darlene Waller of The Villages, FL.

Celebration of Life Service
