Wilbur "Whip" D. Niehoff , 86, of Renner Road, Lehighton, Franklin Township, formerly of Stedman Avenue, Lehighton, PA, died suddenly early Friday morning, June 20, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Lehighton.  He was the husband of Betty M. (Cunfer) Niehoff since October 24, 1959.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Smith) Niehoff.

Whip was employed as a mail carrier by the Lehighton Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 2003.  He delivered the former RR3 and RR4, Beltzville, Franklin Township and Towamensing Township.  Whip was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton.  He was a 1958 graduate of the Lehighton High School, and a 30 plus year member of the Lehighton Men's Band (Baritone).  Whip was also a member and former officer of the Lehighton Eagles.  A lifelong sports enthusiast, Whip was a Philadelphia Phillies fan, Boston Red Sox fan, Cleveland Browns fan, and participant in the Carbon County Senior Games.  He and his wife enjoyed vacationing and spending winters in Florida.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughter, Brenda E. wife of Robin Cressley of Lehighton.  Sons, Steve D. and wife Denise, Brad D. and wife Michelle, all of Lehighton.  7 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Marisa, Gregory, Alicia, Holly, and Brady.  6 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Ethan, Ava, Ella, and Everest.  Brother, Richard and wife Darlene Fasching of Nazareth.  Several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by stepmother, Hedwig (Kurz) Fasching-Niehoff, sisters, Hedwig Rex, Freida Langkamer, and brothers, Robert Niehoff, Luther Niehoff, John Fasching, and William "Bill" Fasching.

Services: Funeral Services, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Miller Funeral Home, 137 Fairview Street, Lehighton, PA 18235.  Call 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.  Interment, Lehighton Cemetery.  Arrangements, Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
