Wilfred S. Jacoby

Wilfred S. Jacoby, 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth.
Born February 19, 1922 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Verna R. (Jacoby) Young and step-son of Charles Young. He was married to his loving wife of 56 years, the late Gladys V. (Miller) Jacoby.
He was a clerk for the A&P Tea Company, Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1983. He was also a Shop Steward for 25 years for UFCW Local 1776. Wilfred was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Northampton. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Shirley Holota-Buck and her companion Raymond Folweiler, grandchildren, Lisa, wife of Bryan Berkenstock, MaryAnn, wife of Mark Dean and Ronald Holota, Jr., sister, Dorothea Kromer; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Wilfred Jacoby, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30, 2018 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Northampton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, both in care of the funeral home.
