William "Bill" L. Ahner, Jr.,
80, of Heritage Village, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, died Sunday evening, January 7, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jean E. (Schleicher) Ahner since March 10, 1962. Born in Ashfield, East Penn Township, he was a son of the late William L., Sr. and Mary C. (Schappell) Ahner.
Bill was employed as a millwright in the beamyard of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, for 31 years, retiring in 1995. A 1955 graduate of the Lehighton High School, he served his country honorably in the PA Army National Guard, Lehighton Barracks from 1958-1961, achieving the rank of E-4. Bill was a member of the United Church of God in Bethlehem. He was also a member of Kempton Antique Tractor and Toy Club. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, woodworking, and most of all spending time with his grandson, Matthew. Bill had the ability to fix, repair, or build, just about anything.

Wife, Jean. Daughters, Dr. Holly Ahner wife of Thomas Poore of Tucson, Arizona, Chrysse Everhart wife of Marc Eden of Swannanoa, North Carolina, and Karol, wife of Gene Keeney of Slatington. Grandson, Matthew Stevens and companion Janna Seip of Slatington. Sister, Elaine Ahner of Slatington. Brother, James and wife Donna Ahner of Statesville, North Carolina. Great-Grandsons, Jacob and Joel. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by a Sister, and 2 Brothers.
