William T. Bechtold, 79 of Northampton- Allen Twp, PA passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Fellowship Community in Whitehall, PA. Born December 8, 1941, he was the son of the late John K. Bechtold and the late Helen Anna (Parker) Bechtold. He was the husband of Sharon J. (Spangler) Bechtold with whom he shared 50 years of marriage this past June 27, 2020.
William was a Supervisor in the Mixing Dept. for the former Tarkett Mfg., Fullerton- Whitehall, PA for 33 years before retiring in 2000. He was a very active member of the Northampton A.A.R.P. Seniors Group for many years. A Life member of the Fullerton Volunteer Fire Co. and the Allen Twsp. Vol. Fire Co. A Life member of the Fullerton American Legion Post #367. He loved the game of golf and playing at various courses throughout the Lehigh Valley along with spending time at the former Sands Casino, Bethlehem. William was a former bowler and member of the Coplay Saengerbund, and a former member of the Catasauqua SA fast pitch League for years. He served his country as a Petty Officer 2nd Class in the US Navy during peacetime. Bill enjoyed his time most with family whether at the beach or any family gathering.
Surviving along with his wife Sharon, are brothers, Charles and wife Barbara of Walnutport, PA, James and companion Paul Ziegenfuss of Aquashicola, PA, Richard and companion Jeanette Coleman of Whitehall, PA and Ronald and wife Eileen of Whitehall, PA, along with many nieces an nephews. He was predeceased by 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
A Private family service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday March 15, 2021at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA, 18067. Friends and family are welcome to a public visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery - Allen Twp., Northampton, PA. The public is reminded to continue to follow social distancing guidelines along with the wearing of facial coverings.
