William C. Horn, 89, of Bethlehem, PA went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2020.  William (Bill) was preceded in his death by his parents, Casper Horn and Marie (Beckmann) Horn of Williamsport, PA and by his brothers Carl Horn of Saginaw, MI and Keith Horn of Kane, PA.  He is survived by his wife, Jane Horn of Bethlehem, PA, and his children Mark Horn of State College, PA; Linda Horn of Allentown, PA; and Debbie Devine of Pittsburgh, PA.  William is also survived by 3 nephews and 5 nieces, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Bill was born February 10, 1931 in Ferndale, MI.  When he was 15, he moved to Williamsport, PA.  Bill loved to play sports, particularly baseball and football.  He excelled at football in high school and was recruited by Lehigh University where he attended on an ROTC scholarship and played offensive guard on the football team and was a member of the 1950 undefeated team. Graduating with a civil engineering degree, he accepted an offer from Bethlehem Steel Corp.  He deferred his employment, however, so that he could fulfill his ROTC commitment in the Korean War.  He was a 1 st Lt. in the Army Corp of Engineers and stationed in the DMV just north of Seoul.

When he returned from Korea, he entered into the Army Reserves and started his first project with Bethlehem Steel as a field engineer where he had to travel from one job to the next.  He married his wife Jane in 1957 and together raised their children in the home they built in Bethlehem in 1964. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting pheasants with his springer spaniels, and making gifts out of wood for his friends and family.  He also was an avid golfer and tennis player and even played ice hockey when he was in his 60's.  However, his greatest love and happiest moments were spent "Up North" at the family cottage on Walker's point, Bois Blanc Island in Michigan.  Until 2017, Bill only missed going to the island one year.   In his later years, Bill took great pleasure in sharing memories of his childhood, army, work, and island adventures with loved ones. Bill was a member of and faithful usher for the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem and more recently, a member at Grace Church Bethlehem.
