William Barkley, Jr., 96, of 2nd Street, Cementon, Whitehall Twp, died peacefully, early Good Friday morning, April 2, 2021, at Heather Glen Senior Living, Upper Macungie Twp. He was the husband of the late Winifred E. (Serfass) Barkley who passed in 2001. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Esther (Lloyd) Barkley.

William was employed as a cement analyst by the NYC Transit Authority, Northampton, and previously by the former National Portland Cement Co., Hecktown. A 1942 graduate of the Whitehall High School, Hokendauqua, he later served as a PFC in the Army Air Corps, WWII, Stateside during the Occupation. He was a member of the VFW, Egypt Post, Whitehall Twp. William was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors: daughter, Diane B. wife of Dennis Schall of Northampton. son, William H. and companion, Barbara J. Steiger of Walnutport. 6 grandchildren. 6 great grandchildren. niece. nephew. He was predeceased by son, Barry in 1992, and a sister, Evelyn Roth.

Services: Graveside Services w/ Military Honors, 11:00AM Thursday, April 8, 2021, Egypt Cemetery, Main Street, Whitehall Twp. Arrangements, Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and the wearing of facial coverings.
