William A. Weidner, 89, of Palmerton, PA. died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at St. Luke''s Hospital - Allentown Campus. Born October 7, 1926 in Allentown, PA he was the son of the late Edwin and Marie (Geist) Weidner. He was the husband of the late Gloria M. (Neitz) Weidner who died in 1970.
William was a walkie stacker operator in stockroom #25 for Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown for 25 years before retiring in 1987. He was the Union Shop Steward for Local #677 for 25 years. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served his country as a Pvt. in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by longtime partner of 36 years; Jean Weidner; son, Wayne A. Weidner of Walnutport, PA, sister, Shirley wife of Earl Franklin of Allentown, PA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Richard, daughter-in-law Sharon Weidner, and a sister Mary Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday April 1, 2016 at St. Peter''s Union Cemetery, St. Peter''s Church Road, Macungie, PA. Local arrangements are under the care of Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
