William P. Wetzel

William P. Wetzel , 82, of Blue Mountain View, Kunkletown, Lower Towamensing Twp., Carbon County, formerly of Schnecksville, died peacefully Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024, in his home.  He was the husband of Mrs. Faye (Ziegenfuss) Wetzel since July 28, 1984.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harvey and Anna E. (Palmer) Wetzel.

William was employed in the assembly dept. of Mack Trucks, Inc., Macungie and Allentown Plants for over 30 years, retiring in 1994.  He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli.  A Marine Corps Veteran, Vietnam Era, he achieved the rank of CPL (E-4).  William was a member of Breinigsville VFW Post, member and past president of the Northwestern Ambulance Corps, and member of the New Tripoli Vol. Fire Co.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughters, Donna Wetzel and companion Junior Frack of Kutztown, Sherry wife of Andy Hecker of Fleetwood, Berks County, Karen wife of Craig Johnson of Allentown, and Jennifer Wetzel of Jacksonville NC.  Stepchildren, Sue wife of Brian Reichard of Breinigsville, Tina Strohl of Pittsburgh, Jayne wife of Gerard Stetzenberger of Northampton, John and wife Wendy Strohl of Slatington, and Mark Strohl of Seipstown.  Sister-in-laws, Betty Wetzel of Palmerton, and Bonnie wife of Thomas Weider of Lehighton.  Brother-in-laws, James Jr. and companion Patty of Palmerton, and Marlon Frey.  21 grandchildren.  16 great-grandchildren.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by stepdaughter, Lori Strohl, sisters, Lorraine, Marie, and Helen, brothers, Roy, Joseph, Robert, Paul, and Howard, and sisters-in-law, Joan Frey, and Joyce Ziegenfuss.
