Winifred Hand Nansteel,
of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully early Wednesday, on her 95th birthday, November 8, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township. She was the wife of the late Milton E. Nansteel, Jr., who passed in 2004. Born in Parryville, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary J. (Hartman) Hand.
Winifred was employed for over 30 years at the former Weissport Hosiery Mill. Later, she worked as a cashier for the former Spillane's Variety Store, Palmerton. She was a life member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Parryville, where she was an organist for over 60 years, past president of the ladies aide, and a former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors:
Daughter, Mary Louise wife of James Blakeslee. Son, Kevin J. and wife Judith Nansteel, all of Beltzville. Granddaughter, Mikayla. She was predeceased by sisters, Irene, Annabelle, and Elda.
