Zuzel Celeste Rodriguez

Zuzel Celeste Rodriguez , 82 of Northampton, PA, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Born November 16, 1942, in Santiago, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Raul Herrera and the late Celeste Llano Herrera. She was the loving wife of the late Ruben J. Rodriguez who passed away April 19, 2020.

Zuzel was last employed in the Dietary department serving residence, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton, PA for over 10 years before retiring. Prior to she worked as a cashier for the ACME, Whitehall, PA for over 10 years.  Prior to ACME, she owned her own childcare center. Mother's Little Helper, on Union boulevard, Allentown, PA for 4 years.

Zuzel believed nothing was more important than family.  She selflessly gave her time and always put others needs above her own. She believed that meals brought families together. She passed on her love of food and passion for cooking to everyone she touched.

Zuzel was survived by her two children; daughter, Jeanette Marakovits and her husband Scott, and son, Reuben Rodriguez, both of Northampton, five Grandchildren; Michael, Thomas, Nicholas, Megan, and Jacob; two Great-grandchildren, Nicholas Jr. and Meadow, and Brother, Raul Herrera of Arecibo, Puerto Rico.  She was pre-deceased by her older brother, Luis Herrera.

Graveside Services an interment for both Ruben and Zuzel will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday October 10, 2025, at Assumption of the B.V.M. Cemetery, Cherryville Road Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Lamb officiating. Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA is in charge of arrangement.
